Checking In

It's been about three weeks since my last post. In those three weeks I have probably worked out with Jillian about 5 times. I have been continuing to go to the gym where I usually walk and stroll with Weston or run on the treadmill (if I happen to have the rare luxury of going to the gym alone). While I've kept my activity level relatively high, my eating has been awful. My diet went south right around Halloween. The endless candy at home and at work really put a damper on my progress. I definitely stopped losing weight and I think I even gained a pound or two.
The holiday season is right around the corner and I've got a pool party on Dec. 10th! Yup, a POOL party. The very thought of having to show myself in a bathing suit in front of other adults makes me want to crawl under my bed and hide until said party date has passed. I've got 20 days until the pool party. With some diet diligence and some long workouts, I think I could drop a couple of pounds before I have to bare my bathing suit body in front of all the party guests. It's going to be tough with Thanksgiving thrown in there, but I know I can do it! This is just the motivation that I need to get back on track.
Today I did level three of Jillian's workout. It was surprisingly easy. I think one of the keys to success with Jillian's program is doing the workout every day. When you do the work out daily, you are starting with muscles that are already sore and then pushing them past what is comfortable so that the muscles are forced to adapt. It will probably take me a few days to feel the familiar muscle soreness. It really does feel good... I love that feeling of getting out of bed in the morning and stretching, knowing that my muscles are tight and sore and growing stronger. I'm going to continue to use this blog to check in once in awhile and give a report on my work out adventures. I can't promise that I'll post daily but I know I stay on track a heck of a lot better when I am writing about my efforts!

I must also add that I saw my pre-pregnancy weight for a couple days at the end of my last Jillian stint! I'm so close to getting there and STAYING there!
